THE BAGH COLLECTION

KLEED presents an awe-inspiring and sweeping collection to herald 2022 - a  richly worked medley of inspired memories from several continents. The Bagh  Collection is a world of live-giving fusion and infusion.

Sustainable luxury resort wear brand KLEED presents the stunning Bagh Collection, paying tribute to yet another of India’s most inspiring destinations with its vibrant colours and centuries-old weaving traditions. Yet India is but the starting point to this collection, which effortlessly weaves classical European heritage through its rich paisley patterns and whimsical Toile de Jouy; stately African traditions in the Masai and Mombasa-inspired prints; and even the Far East with delicate, Japanese-inspired flower designs and prints.

As always, KLEED’s stance on sustainability underpins its entire collection, as it deepens its commitment to local communities, ancestral craftsmanship and natural dyes celebrating bold African prints and colours; and incorporating classical 19th century European prints, into today’s luxurious and chic loungewear.

The entire Bagh Collection testifies to KLEED’s cult status as an elegant, relaxed way of life, whilst maintaining its focus on sustainability in every aspect of its business.

KLEED kimonos on the brand’s path to full sustainability

The double IKAT Kimonos are a staple of KLEED’s collections and this year are heralded in several versions: the midnight Saratan Blue kimono with generous white spots, embroidered with the trademark red lobster; or the teal green, pillar box red or deep blue Shela number, embroidered with cranes or lobsters in contrasting electric blue, bright pink or unabashed scarlet. Celebrating its love of African and animal conservation, KLEED presents its Masai Kimono, with bold chequered blue, red and black; the Mombasa Mix in stunning geometric black and white, with contrasting dark red swathed sash. Finally, the début of the Asian inspired Rainbow kimono, in delicate multi-coloured colour blocks, on a luscious cream background.

With the block print kimono and robes, KLEED reinterprets the renowned Indian technique, and presents a capsule collection of matching pyjamas. In the Bagh collection, we are presented with a seamless fusion of Europe, India and the Far East: swathes of dark blue Paisley prints and vibrant green Indian Palms for the iconic sets of kimono or robe with matching pyjamas; the exotic teal green Japanese floating flowers kimono; and the luscious pink and green climbing flowers kimono, with its contrasting butterfly embroidery. Warm red and cream paisley kimonos make their debut, as do the stunning contrasting turquoise and maroon on cream Sambar kimonos, with their generous, meticulously drawn flower prints. As a final touch, the irresistible IKAT bags in the various prints and patterns, to pair with each Kimono.

A mainstay of the Bagh Collection are the flattering IKAT Pole Pole maxi-length dresses, that will see you effortlessly through the winter and spring months: tapered line, an elegant Mandarin collar, gathered sleeves buttoned at the cuff, and gently flaring in four tiers, to calf-length. Contrasts in colours add depth and warmth to each model: whether the blue, green and red on light grey background; the electric blue on warm ochre yellow; warm peach on maroon and light grey; or the lemon yellow, black and grey version.

Cocooning takes on another meaning with the irresistible KLEED pyjamas – no less indulgent but so much more sophisticated. Crafted from the finest cotton, the bright red or blue Toile de Jouy patterns, with their contrasting piping at the front and hems are an instant hit and will brighten up any grey winter’s day. The regal Blue Boteh paisley patterned pyjama makes its debut, complete with elegant mother of pearl buttons and contrasting white piping – with its chic matching robe it makes the perfect gift for any occasion. An ode to warmer climes is gaily announced - the Mtende pyjama with its spreading green palm trees, embellished by bright red piping on the pyjama jacket, cuffs and hems, and the scarlet crane embroidery on the back. The playful handloomed light cotton IKAT Bind Pyjamas are a show-stopper addition to this year’s collection – their warm coral red or teal green circle-splash pattern, mother of pearl buttons and contrasting piping are a welcome harbinger of summer. The deep indigo Blue Bind pyjama offers a slightly different take, with its diamond-shaped pattern and rakish, contrasting pink piping.

By drawing upon the inspiration of the various cultures and continents, the Bagh collection also celebrates the richness of intercultural mix and match: the Malindi block printed pyjamas – with matching kimonos available - are a feast of contrasting and complementing flower prints, in collars, cuffs and hems: a riotous explosion of the warmest red, the brightest pink and the most luminous turquoise that our eyes could wish for. For the more mathematically minded, the Sambar pyjamas feature indigo or Royal blue geometrical patterns paired with romantic and bright red flowers – a triumphant hymn to life and love, wherever you may be.
